Elizabeth Agresta, founder of Australian Glow, poolside in the Australian sun

The founder

elizabeth agresta.

Founder of Australian Glow. Sun-safety believer. Mum to Oliver. The woman who decided an entire country deserved its glow back — without paying for it in skin.

“i’m not anti-tan. i’m anti-burn. there’s a whole company in the difference.”

Her story

the sun taught her everything.

Liz grew up the way most Australians do — outdoors, barefoot, under the harshest sun in the world. Golden skin wasn’t a look where she’s from; it was a language. It meant summer, salt water, time with the people you love.

Then she learned what that language costs. In Australia, two in three people will be told they have a skin cancer by the time they’re 70 — the highest rates on earth. She watched people she loved trade tomorrow’s skin for today’s colour, one weekend at a time, and she refused to accept that the choice had to be binary: love your glow now, or keep your skin later.

Australian Glow is her answer. Every formula in the range exists so the colour can come from a bottle instead of a burn — clean, vegan, built on a green-brown base that reads bronze on every skin tone, and fast enough that there is genuinely no reason left to lie in the sun for it. She likes to say she didn’t start a tanning company; she started a quitting-the-sun company that happens to leave you golden.

“nobody should have to choose between loving their skin now and keeping it later.”

What she stands for

liz’s non-negotiables.

the tan comes from the bottle

There is no such thing as a safe UV tan — not from the sun, not from a bed. Colour you can rinse off and reapply is the only kind worth having.

SPF is not seasonal

Self tan gives you colour, not protection. Liz wears SPF 50+ every single day — glowing and burnt are not the same look.

get your skin checked

A yearly skin check takes fifteen minutes. In Australia, two in three of us will be told we have a skin cancer by age 70 — found early, most are very treatable.

help the person next to you

Answer the DM. Share the shade advice. Remind your friends about their moles. The glow is better when everyone gets to keep their skin.

The part she loves most

built to help, not just sell.

Ask anyone who has messaged the brand: Liz answers. Shade questions, first-tan nerves, “is this normal?” panics at hour two — she reads them, and it shows in what she builds. The Shade Finder exists because the same question kept arriving a hundred different ways. Every guide in The Glow Edit is a real answer to a real person, published free, no gatekeeping.

It’s also why she signs everything herself. Not a marketing team pretending to be a person — an actual founder who thinks the fastest way to grow a beauty brand is to be genuinely, stubbornly useful to the people wearing it.

Golden-hour Australian beach — the world Liz wants the next generation to inherit safely

And then there’s Oliver

the reason it matters.

Liz’s son Oliver is growing up on the same beaches she did — hat on, SPF 50+ applied, loudly negotiating for five more minutes in the water. He’s the deadline on the mission: build the generation that gets to be golden its whole life, because nobody ever taught it to burn.

the proof is in the glow.

What Liz built scored 9.3/10 and the #1 spot in GLOW’s 2026 Self-Tan Index after eight weeks of independent testing — the country’s highest-rated self tan, made by someone who’d rather you never sunbake again.
